Retortie Cat has something to say about that.

So many retortie people all over the interwebs these days.

Tortoiseshell cats are shortened to “torties” and have beautiful patterned coats of patchy black and orange or diluted variations on this color scheme, like grey and cream. Tortoiseshell cats are almost always female- a trait they share with calico cats. Torties and calicos are not breeds but color patterns, the difference between them being that calico cats have white in their coats as well as the red and black. Torties sometimes exhibit striking asymmetry – a bit of a rarity in the animal kingdom.
