Enchanting Cats

What’s the name for the word for the thing that makes you remember that the person you are now is different than the person you used to be, and that other person is like someone whose name you know but their face is all blurry and you know there is probably a whole bunch of other important stuff about them you won’t ever remember?

One of my very favorite things in this world is the Sandman series of graphic novels written by Neil Gaiman, and Delirium is one of my very favorite characters in the Sandman mythos. When she talks it’s all wiggly and rainbowy and weird, and I just love her.
