Numbered
The days we have together are numbered, and that’s why we’re going to really make them count.
In memory of Rajah, 1992-2010. My childhood love and joy- a very adventurous and loud Siamese cat who spent 18 years doing just as he pleased. He developed glaucoma in both of his eyes and though we tried to treat it, over time it advanced and caused him a lot of pain. After one of his retina’s detached, both of his eyes were surgically removed and he spent his many senior years as a blind cat. Free from his previous pain, he was much happier and being blind didn’t slow him down at all! He had a full life and I have so many great memories of him. He always knew when I was upset or sick and stayed by my side to comfort me. He didn’t like to be handled by other people but would let me drape him over my shoulders like a stole and carry him around like that. He trusted and loved me completely, as only your pet does.
I am leaving you with something personal as this will be my last Enchanting Cats post here. This is number 270, and it feels like enough. I will never stop making things, and though I can fondly look back, I need to move forward. Sometimes you just know when it’s time to move on.
Thank you for reading, I hope this project has brought a little happiness into this world where it wasn’t before. May you have many moments like this one, when nothing in the world can bring you down.
