The Cymric Limerick
This is a quick little limerick
about a most indiscreet Cymric
with a tail so small
he’s just showing it all
and my face I will never let him lick
When people describe something as “poetic” they probably don’t intend a comparison to the lowly limerick. This rhyme scheme is known for being quite bawdy and irreverent, and therefore a lot of fun. Appropriately, Cymrics are fun-loving, clever cats. A Cymric is a long haired variation of the Manx cat. Manx cats have a genetic mutation that leaves them with nubby little tails- some so short that they look virtually tailless. However, any cat owner knows that tail or no tail, if you have a cat you are going to see cat butt pretty much all of the time. I’ve heard cats described as “poetry in motion,” and that poetry is sometimes most definitely a limerick.
